Leaping Horse - 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon

Leaping Horse Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
For a Californian wine under 6 dollars, this stuff is great! Rich, and medium bodied, this wine is produced at the Leaping Horse Vineyards in Lodi, California.

I had this wine with a bowl of pasta with marinara, and it was perfect. In fact the back of the bottle reads:

“First choice, enjoy with great company and a great steak! Second choice, a big bowl of pasta with a red wine (preferably Leaping Horse) marinara.”

Although, I must admit that the BLUE cork really makes the wine memorable for me. Excellent wine for the price.

Price: $5.59

Seen this at the local market and think I’ll give it a try.

A splendid, full-bodied cab with a VERY blue ‘cork’.
I picked up a case at a liquidator for $3.99 a bottle, and naturally I have no regrets. I doubt you’ll find this price, but it is a great ‘under 10′ Californian.

This red is delicious with ham, heavy cheeses and pasta. I had better run down and buy the rest!!!

    Cheers all.

Number one red wine under $20 for me. Had it only once and I will not forget it for a long time. If you see it buy it!

I got this for $3.99 and my mom laughed at me saying good luck drinking it. But the last laugh is mine because this wine is great. The bottle says smokey oak but I don’t taste that, it certainly is full of berry flavors and easy to drink. A great light cab for starters and a steal for anyone.

A little heavy on the plum, settles down after opening. Better the next day. A good Cab for the price. Will probably buy again.

Wife had picked it up, tasted it blind, thought it was great, and was stunned to find out the price. Went back and bought 3 cases. Fantastic value - would have still bought a case if it was $12 instead of $6.
