Leelanau Cellars Witches’ Brew
Leelanau Cellars markets this unique spiced wine as Witches’ Brew around Halloween, but let me assure you that it is a great wine to have on hand throughout the winter. This wine has two labels, the Halloween one (Witches Brew) and the label for the rest of the year, simply named Leelanau Cellars Spiced Wine.

If you’re looking for something fun and unique to bring to a holiday party this year, this is your wine! This wine is best served heated! Simmer in a pot over low heat until it is warm (the temperature of a witches’ tongue, if you’re celebrating Halloween). This spiced wine should not be served with dinner, but rather as dessert, with some good, dark chocolate. I suppose it could also be good before dinner, while folks are still arriving to the party. It would make a great ice-breaker!
Witches Brew is obviously a sweet wine, with aromas of cinnamon and cloves. It has very different characteristics when heated vs. room temperature. Try both!
Rating: 9/10 — Truly unique!
Price: $5.99
Where can I get it? Many places in Michigan carry this wine, especially around the holidays. I found it at Meijer. You could always visit the Leelanau Cellars north of Traverse City to stock up!

I loved this wine Witches Brew. It sold out quickly in every store in west michigan. You should consider selling it year around. I would like to buy 5 bottles of Witches Brew any help in where to get would be great. Everywhere around Grand Rapids is sold out.
Yum!
I’ve been looking for this wine since leaving Michigan five years ago. It was a favorite of mine and I never even realized it was local! It is soooo good! Perfect way to end an evening.
Anyone have a good recipe for this wine, heated up and mixing with apple cider & spices?
Shelly, I find that simply putting cinnamon sticks in while it is being heated is great! The wine itself contains many spices, which are very pronounced when the wine is heated. Apple cider does sound interesting though. Let us know.
Meijer stores carry this wine (at least in Illinois they do!)
I had this wine at a family gathering in my hometown in Indiana. We loved it! Can it be found anywhere in Virginia??
Does anyone know how long you can leave Witch’s Brew on the shelf? Or is it a wine that should be consumed shortly after you buy it?
This is a very good wine. I usually buy 10 bottles around Halloween and stock up so I have some for the winter. I did not know it had two names though. I will be looking for it under spiced wine. I hope Meijer’s carries it also.
This wine, (Witches Brew,) is amazing, I HIGHLY recommend it. Everyone I’ve offered it to has gone on to buy many o’bottle. The store I usually buy Witches Brew was out, so I tried Traverse Bay Cherry Spiced wine. I’m sorry, but it was totally gross. They really should take it off the shelf, because it would discourage people from buying anything else they make. You all can thank me.

Love the Witches Brew, tried it a few years ago up in Traverse City. Around Christmas, Meijer sells the wine for 2 for $8.00, stock up on it then. Try warming it up in a crock pot on low, throw a cinnamon stick in it and drink it warm. WONDERFUL!!!
When I tasted this wine I suddenly had a great thought to add some to my sauce with Apple Dumplings. Everyone loved it.YUM
