Chateau Chantal Pinot Noir 2004

Chateau Chantal Pinot Noir
Last Friday on my way home from work I stopped by Dusty’s Cellar to get lunch and a bottle of wine. I picked out this Pinot Noir from northern Michigan to go with my Italian sub sandwich. Perfect match!

Lots of oak in this Pinot, and it was spicier than most I’ve had. This one comes from the Old Mission Peninsula, a place I love to visit when seeking out Michigan vineyards. The Traverse City area is simply beautiful during the summer and fall months, and it is very easy to spend an entire weekend in the area visiting wineries and tasting. And unlike spending a weekend in Napa Valley, you aren’t going to go broke. Cheap wine can easily be found in any tasting room around Traverse City.

This wine was good, but I generally like more fruit taste in my Pinots. I’m looking forward to visiting this vineyard and sampling more of their products.
